About Us

Mission

The Wish4Life Foundation was founded by Dr. Tanya Trippett in response to the wish of her young cancer patient, whom she treated and cured, that other African children have access to the quality
of care that made his cure possible. His parents agreed to the creation of the Foundation to celebrate their son’s cure.

The focus of the Foundation is a global humanitarian initiative designed to provide or enhance the opportunity for a pediatric cancer cure for children in developing nations. Through access to
essential medical expertise, medicines and supplies, resources and infrastructure support, the Wish4Life Foundation will provide capacity building in partnership with pediatric cancer programs in
the global healthcare community.

The initial work of the Foundation founded by Dr. Tanya Trippett and the parents of Eugène Gasana Jr. to address this unmet need was conducted in Rwanda. Now we have broadened the scope with an outreach to Ghana where the Foundation will create a sustainable International Children’s Cancer Research Centre that will later be recapitulated in other developing nations.

The Approach

The Wish4Life Foundation has the following purposes:

  • To provide access to a comprehensive and sustainable supply of chemotherapeutic and supportive care medications critical to the delivery of curative therapy.

  • To provide infrastructure support for the development of state-of-the art medical facilities to enhance the diagnostic capability and the treatment of children with cancer.

  • To support nutritional programs and empowerment initiatives to ensure the health and well-being of children undergoing cancer treatment.

  • To support nutritional programs and empowerment initiatives to ensure the health and well-being of children undergoing cancer treatment.

  • To provide resources to advance infection control policies and procedures in compliance with international regulatory guidelines to minimize the risk of infection.

  • To provide resources to advance infection control policies and procedures in compliance with international regulatory guidelines to minimize the risk of infection.

Philosophy

The principal philosophy is “Intellectual Philanthropy”, or the giving forward of professional knowledge, expertise, alliances and resources by the members and volunteers of the Foundation.
